1853 aprl 4 our waggon got back from Lynchg
in the night in a thunder Storm Rain very
hard. gone 3 days – coltering Raking & burning
Log Heaps in new ground fencing –

8 we have since 4th been Plowing for corn sewing
Oats coltering in new ground & began yesterday
to hill in new ground - finished sewing
Oats at mr Neals yesterday sewed about 9 Bus. there
We have sewed upwards of 60 Bus. now
this Day we are sewing Oats this morning Plowing
up GardenSewed nearly 700 Bus Manuring Plant Beds at new ground
Fine weather we have burnt all Our Logsetc

10th Sent 2½ Bushels wheat for flour to Mill Millers
- coltering in new ground Plowing for Corn
nearly done in Johns field except some
wet spots- Sent this morning 11th with wheat
11th for me to eat. Plowing for corn
in Johns field, finished Halling little side
in new ground cloudy & like for Rain
Planted Sweet Potatoes yesterday, & water
melon seed, carried young cattle
to mountain took filmore off of
wheat Bet white sow got Pigs but
we cant find her yet. found her with 5 Pigs cut Bets calf

15 went to mill yesterday to Millers 7½ Bus
corn 2½ wheat for me began to Plant Corn
with Guano on Hill the other side Johns
Branch yesterday & laying off for a day or
Two before with Two Horses, Halling manure
out this morning to Johns field to Plant
Corn clear & cool - tobacco Plants small
19 Lambs to the day & 1 at House clear & cool

16 began Plant corn again planted
nearly all the other side Johns
Spring Rained stoped us & we
are striping Tobacco
