Brumfield	January 16, 1861 - January 25, 1861 1861 Janry 16th Halled 2 Loads of Tobacco out of new Barn to new Barn to strip & then went to getting Boards Henry went to mill Carr^d. 1 Turn ^Corn for overseer Bro^t. back slab plank or puncheons for overseers kitchen & 1 Turn meal for us 1 there now I hunted sow^{but did not find her} 17th Fine morning Mrs ^Hunt & Bob going to CH - getting slabs & wood to day I am going to plan^t to day - to see how they are coming on — Cut down corners of Cider House & sawed out door. My White Sow come up this evening with 5 Pigs very likely & good Looking – 18th Raining this morning began to Hew p^{s^s} for Carriage House & Granary & Rain stoped us & we went to striping Tobacco 19th Cutting Malling & Halling wood to day 20th.
