1861 Sept 2nd Finishing worming & toping & succoring
Tobacco & then going to work on new House, floor
finishing chimny etc to day

3rd working on new House began Plow &
Hillin up Fresh ground Tobacco wormed
Tobacco in morning I went to Riceville
over Jacobs Plantation owen who wanted
to rent did not come, I went to Fitzgeralds
& Lewis s -

4th Finished fixing new house except putting on
Lock gathered dryed Peas grubing etc Henry
& Horse gone to thrash wheat at Mrs Panills
& Vaughans on same Terms, & then went to aspen
4th Grove this evening

5 cloudy & like for Rain but the hands
is all gone but Charles to Plantation to
Machine wheat. Rained & we did not do much at
it. Rained tremendous in the evening hitched
Molly to the machine & she worked prime to it

6th. Working on road this morning round to new
Granary & then worming & succoring Tobacco
Rained again this evening I went down to Mrs
Hunts place to see about renting it out they
want it another year Mr Hubbard & T Timpleton

7th maching wheat at aspen Grove & finished
We all went to meeting at strait stone
& by aspen Grove & come home Kate here

8th I am unwell & did not go to meeting
Jerry Came here cloudy & like for rain

9th. I am still unwell & stayed at home till
evening & went over to Mr Hunts place to see
Ellis who is no better pulling fodder
here to day after digging some Irish Potatoes
in the morning & Putting up some hogs
in pen old Sow Boar & a big Hog in other
pen 2 together to Kill worked on road this
morning Henry did

10th worming & succoring Tobacco this morning
We may pul[l] a little more fodder this evening
