1868 April 13. Cool raining & freesing this
morning quite cool. 5 Lambs to this time
Icicles Several inches long Keeps Cloudy & cool

14th Cloudy & misting rain nearly all day
helped Richard Roll his logs & finished
Tommy & Doron plowing till 3 oclock
come up a hard shower & stoped,
I halled 3 Loads wood from waterloo

15 Still Cloudy & misting rain Raking
manure in Farm pen this morning
quite cool, one of my sheep missing
Showry all the evening Plowers went to Plowing
2 times & had to quit both times - Rained
in the night Some

16th This mooning before day it began
to thunder & lighten Very Severly & Continued
2 or 3 Hours hard & loud, & began to
Rain hard & like the earth is almost
in a float of water - slow had a Calf
Our folks are helping Richard strip
Tobacco to day 11th Oclock Rain
Raining hard yet quite I tell you it is a wet time
From the sharp Peals thunder & lightening
Something is about t take place.

17 Plowing in evening, opened Lugs fixed
Bridges spring etc Hauld Raking in new groundLoad in evening

18 Doron & Timmy Plowing Lowry coltering
Cleaned off new ground I went to old
place Mr Dalton Culling & laying worm
of fence at mountain put up bars to woods
Pasture etc Estes & Tommy plowing far corn

19th. I went to strait Stone about Sunday School
Slow has had a calf Several Days & We have
to help her up Twice a day, Raining
the evening quite again, I cant go to court.

20. Plowed for corn a little in evening
Grubed some in new ground shelled corn
Lowry went to mountain to haul rails for fence
Did not get done.
