25th June 1871 Rained a little this morning so
much I did not go to Sunday School to day

26 Weeding corn on branch Mattherly not here
Only to get cart - & steers & go to Mill for himself
Sam G. Plowing & weeding corn on Branch

June 23rd Mattherly Commenced at 12 oclock for 1 more [?lost in margin]
- Let Doron have $1.50 for Leather reigns for 2
Horses & 75¢ & Jug for 1½ Galls Lamp oil etc

27 & Finished weeding & thining branch Corn last [w...]
planted & began to chop up missing hills in
lot. Rained a little in morning let John Tucker
have my Waggon & mule to carry his Tobacco to Lynchg

28th. Mattherly here again this morning put out
fine& he is to take my waggon & 2 mules horse & carry Tobacco this morning Sam at work in
new Load of Tobacco for meground to day & his gang Edmond got
Steers this morning to Plow for Tobacco
Working new ground Tobacco so soon as they
finish hilling up Green & choping up Hills Tobacco

29 Took down all our Tobacco nearly
& prizing all day good & fine Martin Went
to Mill Robert working fresh ground
Tobacco Sam G Plowing tobacco & weeding

30 Mattherly & Andrew Wyatt & Wm Bailess &
Lewis prizing Tobacco Halling to Prize
Barn, Edmond had steers 1 day 2 halves to
Plow. cloudy nearly all day Martin had
Tom to Plow his patch this evening Sam
Robert working fresh ground Tobacco
Let John Tucker have my waggon

Saturday 1st July 1871 Working fresh ground
Tobacco & Sam Plowed some in corn Mr Mattherly
Plowed Sweet Potatoes Seeded corn over the branch
Plowed cotton & Harrowing Lot Tobacco,

2nd I went to Sunday School

3rd Cutting oats on Sams side to day hired
Mattherly to cut oats Mattherly & Sam is cutting
R 4/6 pr day Hot sultry weather
