11th August 1871 Went to fencing after 12 oclock
till night; out side fence cloudy till 10 oclock
12th. Toping & worming Tobacco to day very
dry & Hot clear weather - no turnips Sowed
13th. I went to meeting & Sunday School
14. Fencing till 12 oclock choping in branch
Corn & Cutting coal wood I went to shop
got Bill shod behind clinch shoes before
15. fixing to carry 2 logs to Yates Mill
have tire Cut fellow put inwaggon wheel etc to day
working on coll[coal] Kiln A little cloudy
16th James D Hunt gone to Court House this morning
Finished setting up coal Kiln Succoring &
Topping tobacco this evening in new ground
17 Doron Come back from CH Brot My Saddle did not
bring any letter from Treadway & Tags that Lovelace
will be down in a day or — Two toping worming
& Succoring over Our Tobacco I went to see
old Mr Keatts to day very dry & Hot at this time
Rained this morning about 5 oclock
as fine Rain Rained 2 or three hours to day
18. Toping worming & succoring Tobacco
19 Same work my wife gone to see Sallie
etc to day still cloudy
20th I went to Sunday School not many
there Weather more cool little Hazy
21 Fixing to Lynchg Waggon started I started
very wet Bad trip Waggon got back in the
Rain Thursday evening I did not get back
till Friday Robt went with Doron Sam
& Martin Ben & Lewis toping worming all
the time till this 25th Augt 1871
26 Finished over Tobacco & then made fence
across Lot, My spotted sow got pigs this morning
Milly Bulling this morning
29 Chinking & Daubing Barns to day has
rained to day, warm weather
