1871 Augt 28th I did not go to Sunday School
on acct of the weather threatened to rain
all the day but not rain much
To day we are at work in new ground
worming succoring Tobacco & toping Ben
gone to mill for Martin this morning
My white sow has only 3 pigs I saw
them to day the Black spotted has 8 Pigs.
My wide Horns, Pied young cow will have
a young calf soon in September, I expect
Rained 3 times to day, Doron went up to
Mrs Colemans to Carry them all to the
Association at Riceville tomorrow in
in their new carriage Continues to rain

29th Nannie & me went to association
at Riceville Rained & we had a bad
time of it. Bro Betting Preached & not
Mr Hume; Our folks worming & succoring new
ground Tobacco rained in evening

30 worming & succoring Tobacco to day

31 I went to association finished getting over
Tobacco worming & toping & succoring & worked
on Bars some turned,

Sept 1st. Daubed & chinked new prize Barn
& then went to Plowing & Hilling up
Lot Tobacco Sewed Turnips in lot above
My Stable worked out my Greens this morning
Brot my Bull from fresh field to Milly Mly & as the
Pied Cow is expected to have a calf shortly
I brot her in pasture below House
to day clear to night drying apples

2nd went up to Mr Scruggs sent to P.O.
- our folks working Tobacco Sam succoring
working worming Tobacco

3rd Have not finished choping Lot Tobacco
Began to Pull fodder this morning
& expect to Pull all day, went to see M[lost in margin]
Doran gone with Frank
