A. Yes.

Q. 17 State when you first became a
director and how long you continued
to be such?

A. I first became a director at the
organization of the Company and I
remained a director with 1861
some time.

Q. 18 Were you a director at any time after
that of that Company?

A. Then I do not remember the dates
of the consolidation of the Company but I
came back into the Central Pacific
Directory in 1869 in October. From
the time I left it then I was not
an officer again of the Central Pacific
of California but I do not remember the
dates of those consolidations.

Q. 19 In speaking of the Central Pacific
Railroad Company in your last answer
do you not mean the Central Pacific
Railroad Company of California?

A. Well as I said before if there was
a consolidation before the Fall of 69. I
was not a director in it because from the
time that I left its Directorship in 1861
until 1869 I was out of the Directorship.

Q. 20 Who succeeded you as a director of the
Central Pacific Railroad Company of California?

A. I do not recollect sir.

Q. 21 Was it Mr. E. B. Crocker?
