a member before I resigned or not. I
think he was still he may not have
been the records of the Company will show
that however.

Q. 22 Mr. E. B. Crocker is deceased is he not?

A. Yessir.

Q. 23 When did he die?

A. He died in June I could not tell
you I cant remember certainly the year.

Q. 24 Was it '74 or '73?

A. I think it was 5 years ago 5 or
6 years ago.

Q. 25 How long were you a director of the Central
Pacific Railroad Company before the
consolidation you speak of?

A. I was from the date of its organization
up to — I have not got my memorandum
book with me — up to the time I resigned
in 1861 I do not recollect exactly the date of
that I think though it was in the Fall.

Q. 26 After that before the consolidation
you have spoken of, how long
were you a director?

A. After that before the consolidation.

Q. 27 Yes sir.

A. I do not know whether I was
a director at all, before the
consolidation because I do
not remember the date of
the first consolidation. Well
then I was from October 1869.
