Butler County March 14th 1857

Cousin Thomas I wrote to you last fall stating how things was here with gregard to the Dixen Estate but have receive no answer and pressure you care but little about the matter I will just say that Mr Isabett has filed a bill to sell the land belonging to the Estate and if you would give your consent for a decree it might hasten the Business he could have sold some of the land possibly for tolerable fair price but was not in a situation to make a deed for the want of Instruction from you he is disposed to wind up the Buissness as fast as he can The Lee Debt could now be compromised by paying him fifty dollars and each one pay his own cost what would you do in that case If you think it best to give that amount out of the Dixon Est write to me an I will have it to letter I do not think he can record but it may be some time before it is bill the cost may run up to very near that amount I saw a letter from Dysart he is well please with Texas and his & Ams health is better all friends are well as far as I know very cold write every thing high Yours Truly JB Helm
