Wed FEBRUARY 20. Clear and a little warmer. We hauled and put a couple loads of ice into the cistern. Then Lew went to see the school marm and practice his piece and I worked in the shop some.
FEBRUARY 21. Thurs Pretty warm and took the snow most all off. We hauled 3 loads of ice and put into the cistern and that was about all.

Fri FEBRUARY 22. It has got to be pretty cold again. Lew went to town in the forenoon and in the afternoon and in afternoon we went to ditch co meeting. Lew and Mother went to John [Tragers?]
FEBRUARY 23. Sat Cold in the morning but moderated a little after a while but a chilly south wind all day. Will Dixon helped Lew saw wood cut up a pretty good lot. I split a good big pile.

Sun FEBRUARY 24. Rather cool and mostly cloudy. Lew went to Dotts s has not got home yet. Mother and I kept house and kept Sunday very well for poor folks.
FEBRUARY 25. Mon It grew warm all day slowly. We made a big gate to go between the house and barn made it out of poles.

Tues FEBRUARY 26. Pretty fair again to day. We tinkered around. We hung the gate and I worked at rock some. Lew hauled a load of sand.
FEBRUARY 27. Wed I've skipped a day somehow.

Thurs FEBRUARY 28. A pretty good day. We worked at the wall for a business to day, but the rock are mighty poor for the business so we dont get along vey [very] fast.
