Mon July 7th Quite nice.
Lew and Burdick hauled hay
mostly but Lew raked some.
I mowed in the forenoon
and mowed with a scythe awhile
in the afternoon then
helped to haul.

Tues July 8 Nice and quite warm
and rained around in various
directions. We all fished in
the forenoon but in the afternoon
I didnt go as I am afflicted
with a lame finger. I
dont know what is the matter
with it. It feels numb and
is some swelled and quite
hot. I hope it is not going
to be so bad a great while.
