Fri July 11 Nice day. Lew and Bert worked at haying. Lew raked in the morning and Bert mowed the two little pieces near the barn then they hauled 3 loads from the hill piece. I put in the day a visiting with Anda Dyers folks.

Sat July 12 Very nice but very hot. I irrigated some of the orchard helped a little at haying. Lew and Bert worked at haying and got through the firs [first] cutting and the two little pieces by the barn. The second and now some of the folks have gone with hooks and lines to try to catch some fish.

Sun July 13 Pretty hot. We kept Sunday mostly but I finished irrigating the orchard and turned water on to the piece towards the barn and started it on to the two little alfalfa patches.

Mon July 14 Threatened rain some and somebody got some but mostly up in the mountains. Lew tinkered around after he got back from town and fished in the afternoon. Anda and Bert Black helped them. Bert Burdick plowed corn. I irrigated finished the pieces around the house and got some of a start on the piece across the hollow.

Tues July 15 Clear and very warm. Lew and Mary and Meda started for the mountains to day. They expect to be gone from a week to 10 days and to go as far as Chambers Lake. Burdick cultivated corn to day. I irrigated but went to town with Dave. We brought Anda Dyers folks out home with us.

16 of July Pretty fair day. Dave irrigated. Bert finished plowing the corn and then had the rest of the day. Mother and myself Anda and Lucy and Roy and Aggie went up to John Dragers a visiting had a nice time. Then we took Andas folks to Charleys and came home way around Robin Hoods barn on account of the broken down bridge.

Thurs July 17 About so so. Dave and Mr Plummer went to town with fish etc. I irrigated and Bert and I picked the raspberries and hoed corn between spells.

Fri July 18 Pretty nice and rained quite a little bit here and looked as if it rained a big shower up at Rough and Ready Ranch. Bert went to work for John Howards folks this morning. Dave sort of chored around. I irrigated over on the hill and hoed corn this forenoon and mowed weeds a little this afternoon.

Sat July 19 The day was quite nice. It rained all around us but not here. Dave and Bert and Plummer went to town. I done some irrigating and hoed corn the rest of the day hoed 52 rows right next to the road on the north.

Sun July 20 Nice day again and rained in all directions and in some very heavy but not any for poor drouth [drought] parched weuns [us]. John and Annie and their children came up and we had a nice visit.
