Mon April 30 A cold disagreeable day and
rained a little while quite nicely. Frank was here
and took 1,135 lbs of hay over to dr Miller. Lew
was here and he and John branded the colts
and a calf or two. John finished plowing
the piece towards the barn and got it partly
harrowed. I worked at the division place near
Mr Bee's all day and did not get done.

Tues May 1st Clear with a little wind
and quite a big frost in the morning but
I have not seen any damage done by it yet.
John went with Lew to take the colts
and cattle up to Spring Canion [Canyon].
I fixed the fence where the ditch fiends
cut it in the Larimer Co ditch then
worked over at the head gate near Mr
Bees. Then let out some water and
irrigated a little here north of the house.

Wed May 2 Clear this morning
and we have had a cold wind all day and
about half past 4 it began to rain slowly
and it is raining a little now. Johny finished
harrowing and clod crushing the piece towards
the barn and then he hauled manure the
rest of the day on to the piece below the orchard.
I irrigated and got the piece done north of
the barn. I contracted with a Mr
Tailor to take 5 pounds of coffee when it
comes and if it is like the sample it
will be pretty nice.
