Fri Aug 31 Fine again but pretty warm.
The boys hauled 4 load [loads] of oats from the two
little pieces joining [adjoining] the 10 acre piece and
5 loads of hay from the piece North of the
house put 1 load in the barn and
the rest in the stack. I made a gate
to haul the oats through and then made
a lean to [lean-to] on the south end of the grain
stack yard and fixed the bridge by the
gate.

Sat Sept 1st Fine and quite warm.
The boys finished hauling and stacking
the hay from North of the house and then
hauled and stacked the oats north of the barn.
They hauled 2 loads of hay to day [today] and 4 loads
of oats and got done at noon. I fixed the
bridge across the ditch towards the windy hill
place and then started in to irrigate the
the alfalfa north of the house and allso [also] on
the strawberries and put in the day at it.
Frank and the children were here to day [today] and
to night [tonight]. Charley and Hattie and the girls and
Arthur Bush are here now.

Sun Sept 2nd A nice day to day [today]
and Mother and Mrs Randall went up to Laporte
and got Mrs Randells little girl and went to John
Dragers. Found them tolerable well. Bert and
his girl were here and Mr Kissack and wife and Lew
and Mary and Aggie. I irrigated on the piece
of alfalfa above the house to day [today] and got pretty
near done.
