Fri July 27 A good hay day. The three boys hauled hay all day and I think they stacked 6 loads May be [maybe] 7. I worked at haying some at hoeing some and at irrigating some and done them all well too.

Sat July 28 Pretty nice day and pretty nice too. George and John and Marsh finished the 10 acre piece and finished the stack up there. They got two loads from the 10 acre piece which make 15 loads from that piece this time. Then they put two loads in the barn loft and 2 they stacked. I irrigated all day on the piece towards the barn and on the piece below the orchard.

Sun July 29 Pretty warm but rather nice withall [withal]. We kept sunday pretty well and had Mary and Lew and Mr Amos to help us. George went to C V Howards and to town. He is going to help Charley at his second cutting. John went home last night and has not got home yet.

George and John finished stacking the piece North of the house and this afternoon they set up wheat after Frank who was cutting it. Tues July 31 It rained a little to day [today] but only a little. Frank finished cutting the wheat and then started with the harvester for John Dragers to cut his barley. George went over to help Mr C V Howard at his hay this morning. Johny set up the wheat and helped Frank get started then he helped me at some things but I done lots of irrigating. I finished the piece below the orchard and one of the little pieces of oats and started on the 10 acre piece and the alfalfa north of the house. The Tetafsky and the red Astrican apples are just delicious now this last day of July and we have the piece north of the house and the 10 acre piece all in the stack. I think the crops are pretty early this season.

Wed Aug 1st. About like July weather. A little rain just at night but not enough to do much good or hurt. I irrigated a lot to day [today] and Johny and I stacked two loads of barley too.

Thurs Aug 2nd Pretty this morning but it gave us quite a shower about 2 O clock and drizzled quite a lot more and it rained quite a bit last night so it must be a pretty growing time now for awhile. I have irrigated a good deal to day [today] finished the piece above the house and irrigated the strawberrys and have irrigated a good deal on the ten acre piece. John done various odd jobs.

Sun Aug 5 A pretty nice day. However it gave us a quite a rain beginning about 5 O clock PM and raining about an hour. Mother and I went over to Charleys and had a nice visit. Went over his place and I think their prospects for a god [good] crop of Evrything [Everything] is very flattering at present. We started home a little before sunset but the road was so slippery that we had to come pretty slow and it was nearly 9 O clock when we got home. We found the house locked up and Johny was gone to hunt us.
