Minutes of Meeting held on 12th July 1946 Present Crs Jas Doudle, RF Richardson, WG Morgan, G Smith, & P Woods. Also Clerk AH Taylor and Overseer KS McFarlane Apology received for his absence from Cr KW Ford.

Councillors Elected Clerk reported that Messrs WG Morgan and Jas Doudle had been re-elected Councillors for Warrow and Ulipa Wards and KW Ford for Mortlock Ward at the Annual Election. Allowance- Prop Cr Smith/Sec Cr Richardson} That the Chairmans Allowance for current Year be £25. Carried Chairman- Prop Cr Doudle/Sec Cr Richardson} That Cr Morgan be appointed Chairman for Current year. Carried. Cr Morgan then took the Chair and thanked Councillors for the Appointment

Revision Comm Prop Cr Woods/Sec Cr Richardson} That all Councillors be appointed on the Assessment Revision Committee. Carried. Minutes of previous Meeting Read & Confirmed. Finances Financial Statement showed a Credit Bal of £4520.1.5 Correspondence- Deputy Director Posts & Telegraphs in reply to Councils letter- stated that no tree cutting by PMG had been done as stated at Little Swamp. Prop Cr Woods/Sec Cr Smith} That Clerk write and state that information received by the Council is that trees have been cut by P.M.G. employees and that the Council does not wish any to be cut there in future and therefore suggested that underground Cables be installed at that locality. Carried.

Secy to Minister of Agriculture with copy of letter to HW & DP Dorward

Cutting bush Along boundary Fence granting them permission to cut small bushes etc adjoining their boundary fence on the Road adjoining Section 415 Hd Louth. Received.

Re Net Fishing Minister of Agriculture with copy of Proclamation prohibiting Net Fishing in portion of Douglas Bay and also for 4 months of the year in Coffin -Kellidie out to Point Sir Isaac.

Request add to Main Road Schedule Clerk Tumby Bay D/C. Stating the Tumby Bay Council were requesting that the road from Ungarra to Yeelanna be placed on the Main Road Schedule and requesting the support of this Council. Prop Cr Smith/Sec Cr Richardson} That this Council support the Tumby Bay Council in this request and also make application for the continuation of this road from Yeelanna through Ningana to Kapinnie, south of Sec 14.15 Shannon 11.13.14 Hd Mitchell, to join up with Bratten Way at South corner of Sec 7 Hd Mitchell, be also added to the Main Road Schedule. Carried.

Noxious weeds Secy to Minister of Agriculture Stating that during War Years the spread of Noxious Weeds had increased considerably, and the Minister now desires that all District Councils take steps immediately to enforce the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act in their Area.

Objection to Close Road J Hodgins objecting to the Closing of Road adjoining Section 140/1 & 106 Hd Lincoln, between the property of SM McFarlane. Objection Noted

Notices of motion Local Government Association re Notices of Motion for Annual Meeting in September.

Re Footpath Cummins EH Parker in reference to the bad state of footpath in portion of Bruce Terrace Cummins - Referred to Overseer and Councillor.

National Fitness Council re Action to be taken. Received

Re Roads for Tourist Traffic Corporation of Pt Lincoln in reference to improving the roads to Sleaford Bay, Coffin Bay and Winters Hill in the interest of 'Tourist Traffic' and a Deputation from the Corporation. Crs Hunt, Whait, Crotty and Town Clerk waited on the Council to discuss these matters. It was suggested that Council apply for Grants for the 3 roads, but it was pointed out that at the present time there was neither sufficient plant or Labour for the work to be carried out if Grants were made available. The Deputation stated that the Corporation could possibly assist the Council with the plant to do the Winters Hill Road. The town Clerk suggested the Council apply for a new Road to be opened along the West Side of the Mere to Sleaford Bay. Prop Cr Woods/Sec Cr Richardson} That as the Corporation have promised to assist the Council with their plant - application be made to the Govt for a Grant of £100 for the Winters Hill Road to cope with Tourist Traffic. Carried

Request for Road Survey Sleaford Prop Cr Woods/Sec Cr Richardson} That the Govt be requested to survey and open a New Road along the western side of Sleaford Mere from the turn north of the present road to continue south through Block 14 B to Sleaford Bay to provide for Tourist Traffic. Carried

Bad Crossing Superintendent S.A. Ry P.Lincoln wrote re dangerous condition of the Ry Crossing South of Yeltucka Siding between Sections 12 & 13 Hd Shannon. Overseeer to see Ry Ganger FH Oswald.

Water Pipe Across Road RP Pfeiffer requested permission to lay a Water Pipe across the Warrow Road from opposite the Recreation ground to his block No 7 of Sec 17 N E Hd Cummins Prop Cr Smith/Sec Cr Woods} That permission be granted subject to the usual conditions. Carried Petrol Pump Application Drummond & Kimber made application for permission to install a Petrol Pump on the footpath opposite their Garage at Main Road Yeelanna Prop Cr Smith/Sec Cr Doudle} That permission be granted subject to all conditions of the Act and Regulations being carried out and the

necessary insurance Policy indemnifying the Council against any loss or damage, be deposited with the Council at the Council Office. (Fee £1.10.0 per Annum) To be paid

C Wade re Arreas of Rates on Thistle Island resolved that Rates must first be paid, following which a detailed statement of work done on roads will be considered. Camp Sites-Dept of Lands in reference to Licences of Camp Sites at Coffin Bay and a copy of the Conditions of Licences and a list of additional sites of ⅛ Acre each that have been approved

Report Overseers Report for Month read Prop Cr Woods/Sec Cr Smith} That the Overseers Report as read be adopted. Carried Cr Woods requested that grading be done on Proper Bay Road. Granted Cr Smith requested that Grading be done between Kaldow and the Dog Fence and from Kaldow to Barnes as soon as the Plant is available. Granted Cr Richardson Requested that something be done on Louth Hill Road as some of those interested would probably do the necessary work Left to Overseer to see if labour and be obtained.
