Minutes of District Council Meeting held 15th May 1920

Financial Statement submitted & read

Correspondence From Mr J. D. Bruce & Family returning sincere thanks to the members of the Lincoln Council for their kind sympathy. Balance of Main Rd grant to 30/6/20 From Local Gov Dept stating that £305. . . Balance of M Rd Grant for year ending 30/6/20 had been paid to Council Credit with the Bank of Australasia Pt Lincoln, also from same office stating that balance of Grant £180 for Tod Road would be paid. Control of Subdivisions Circular from Same office re subdivisions & Town Planning. Also copy of Lecture given by T Duffield on local Governments in other lands Drought Relief Act of1919 From same office re application received under The Drought relief Act & asked Council not to press for amounts due to them until after the next harvest. replys sent.

Wire Netting instalments Letter from Sec for lands Stating that £1407.8.3 was still due onwire netting instalments & that unless the amount was paid before the 30th April the penalties would be inflicted. reply sent asking that the arrears be held over. Fron same office dated 4th may acknowledging Councils appeal to hold over the arrears for wire net Instalments.

Letter from Sec Lands re wire netting on R Puckridge estate reply sent

Wire net differences From same office giving particulars of outstanding wire netting balances of Gov Books. reply sent that same does correspond with Council Books & asking for further particulars regarding same.

re Application for Vermin Loan Letter from Sec for Lands acknowleging receipt application for loan under the Vermin Act 1946 & 1919. reply sent that Council had not made application referred to. further reply received dated 3rd May 1920. That A L Hill had sent in an application for loan of £100 under the vermin Act & that no application for this loan had been received from the Council.

Soldiers Grant Letter from L G Dept stating that £183 expended by Council in employment of Soldiers would be refunded this week

Wire net Instalments Letter from Sec for Lands acknowleging receipt for £300 on a/c of wire net Instalments to 1/2/20 & that the balance due was £1109.8.3. Removal of Net From same office acknowledging Council request for permission to remove netting off abandoned lands & again dispose of same under the Vermin Avct further amendment Act of 1919. Also reply , to outstanding balances A J Miller A/C Also from same office stating that application had been made to transfer perpetual Lease No 6156 Hd Ulipa & asked what amounts were due for wire net Instalments on Same. reply sent.

May 15th 1920

Removal of netting Letter from National Mutual Association & Knox & Hargreave re Councils intention to remove netting & asked for particulars of amt due.

Local Gov Association re Road Advice received from Sec Local Gov Association That Lincoln Council was not liable for part cost of clearing road on the north side of hundred line between Louth & Hutchinson.

Contract No 9 Hd Ulipa Letter from J. J. Doudle re Contact No 9 which was let to him @ £3/17/6 & then relet to J. Thorpe at £4/-/-

Blk 19 Mitchell Letter from H.H. Voumard stating that Rates & other a/cs due on Blk 19 Hd Mitchell would be paid within a months time.

Brand for Cum Pound Letter from P. D.S. Cooper re Brand granted for Cummins Pound. Reply sent

Netting on Blk 8 Mitchell Letter from David Green asking that Council give him first offer for wire netting on Blk 8 Hd Mitchell when same was sold.

Netting sold Blk 8 Mortlock Letter from J. Johnnesson stating that he had sold 900 yds of netting from off Blk 8 Hd Mortlock & that the amt would be paid to Council.

Letter from Sec Pt Lincoln Branch of Sailors & Soldiers Imperial League regarding Blankets distributed by Council Clerk to reply that Council had followed instructions received from Militaary Dept.

Re Lights Council Hall Letter from Secretary Forresters Lodge stating that on several occasions no lights were available when lodge meetings were being held.

Removing Headstone from Koppio & Poonindie Cemetery Letter fron G. Dorward asking for permission to remove his Brothers Tomb Stone from Koppio Cemetery & erect same in Poonindie Cemetery. Clerk to procure legal advice

Koppatucka Water Reserve Memorandum of Agreement between Council & A W Abbot to lease Koppatucka water reserve submitted for Signatures from J.S. Shepherd.

Brand for Cum Pound Certificate of Pound Brand allotted for Cum Pound received from Stock& Brands Office

Petition to level Road Betwn P.O. & Grand Hotel Petition from W. Dick-nson G.H. Anthony & Others asking Council to level road between Post Office & Grand Hotel, also to reconstruct Eyre St Resolved that O/S inspect & report at next meeting & give estimate of cost.
