District Council of Lincoln Minutes of Meeting held on 18th May 1945 Present Cr W G Morgan (Chair), H J Blacker, Jas Doudle, R F Richardson, G C Smith, P Woods. also Clerk A H Taylor & Overseer K S McFarlane. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Financial Statement present showed a Credit Bal of £4189.2.3 Correspondence Director of Lands advised that the Camp Sites had been leased for one year to the following:- From 1st April 1945 W O Stenson Coulta ¼ acre adjoining Section 230 Hd Lake Wangary Mrs G E Stenson Coulta ¼ acre adjoining Section 233 Hd Lake Wangary Mrs E M Price ¼ acre adjoining Section 233 Hd Lake Wangary Received Grant Highways Dept advised that following Councils request 'an additional £100 had been alloted to District Roads to enable the grading on road through Section 86 Hd Wanilla to be completed to Wanilla Siding. Rcd Planting Trees on Road Poonindie Secy Poonindie School Committee requested perission to plant Pine Trees on road running east from the School and to fence same to protect from stock. Prop Cr Richardson/ Sec Cr Blacker }That permission be granted to plant the trees and protect them from stock as requested in the letter. Carried.

Opinion re Well on road Letter from Mr Pearson MP to Mr J Doudle - with a copy of an opinion by the Crown Solicitor - that there is evidently no legal way of granting permission to sink a well on a Road, other than by closing the road or portion thereof (on which it is desired to sink a well) under the Roads (Opening & closing Act). Rec'd.

Tractors S A Tractor Coy advising that if Councils will require new Tractors for Post War work, it is advisable to now advise the Coy of their requirements.

Director of Red X- Re peacetime planing of Red X activities in Country districts. Received

Accounts Account from Renovial Rubber Coy for Labor and parts Reconditioning Tractor A acount to over £400. Recd.

Land for proposed Road Cummins J Fuss Cummins again wrote to know what has been decided in refernce to purchase of land for proposed road on West side of Block 2 of Sec 3a. Clerk to explain the position and Cr Blacker to enquire from Progress Association what has been done in the matter.

Re Dead trees on Road- Minister of Agriculture re dead Trees on road - They are to be regarded as Trees. G I Tanks Minister of Agriculture re Galv Iron Tanks obtained from Mr I French of Strathalbyn. Clerk to ascertain the gage of G.I in Tanks.

Gates across Road A P Henke requested permission to put 2 gates across the road between Sections 21 and 25 Hd Mitchell - more information to be obtained by Overseer, by next meeting for further consideration.

Repairs Cresco Fertilizers Ltd re road to Hodges. Clerk to reply that nothing can be done at present.

Sale of Tractor by Tender Tenders for Purchase of Tractor B Only one Tender was received from Mr S M Low for £950 Prop Cr Blacker/ Sec Cr Doudle} That the Tender be accepted for £950 cash on delivery. Carried Fixed Deposit Prop Cr Smith/ Sec Cr Richardson} That the £950- for Tractor be put on Fixed deposit for 12 months. Carried.
