were absent.

In the recent protest of the club to the Western
Section of the C. S. A., which was printed in the Chinese

in San Francisco to subsidize delegates to the conference
at Seattle, Mr. [R. H??. Chin], chairman of the West. Sect.
C. S. A., has replied our protest in the papers in an
attacking and humiliating tone toward our club,
which was intolerable. In order to answer his article,
so as to vindicate the club's honor, it will cost the club
$10.25 to have our reply printed. It was moved and
seconded that we should our reply and the cost
of $10.25 to be paid from the club treasury. The matter was
voted upon and passed by a majority.
