of our nights in foxholes trying to stay out of the Jap's way. Living conditions are very poor and the food situation is not much better. But things could be worse as they are about six miles from here where the boys are fighting the Jap. It's really living hell for them. I hope you will take my case under consideration, and, if you decide favorably, tell me at which stage I will be able to resume my education.
I was a member of the class of 1943 and a member of Phi Gamma Delta while at Stanford. My address is: Captain Grover A. Strone, USMCR, Marine Fighting Squadron 322, c/o F.P.O. San Francisco, California
Hoping to hear from you soon, I remain,
Grover A. Strone
