29 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jun 14 1886 Councilman Lake submits a proposal of the Gutta Percha & Rubber Mfg Co for furnishing the City a new hose cart. On motion the matter is referred to the Committee on Fire & Water. The City Surveyor submits plans and specifications for Beach Road Bridge which are adopted and on motion the Clerk is directed to advertise for bids for the Construction of the same, said bid to be filed on or before 4 o'clock pm June 25th 1886 each of said bids to be accompanied by a certifired check for $1000. The mayor approved G W Hall a member of the Jusdiciary Committee in place of John Keenen absent from the City. Ordinances The City Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "An ordinance to locate and establish a Public Street extending from the intersection of Eighth & Plummer Streets to the intersection of Grant and Hinds Streets in the City of Seattle" which afterr due consideration is adopted by the following vote: In favor of said ordinance Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington Lake, McDonald and Young. Against none An ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An ordinance to Vacate a portion of Tenth Street in Judkins Addition to the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of the same Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Lake, McDonald and Young. Against none The Clerk submits an ordinance entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is adopted passed by the following vote: Ayes Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Lake, McDonald and Young. Against none An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An ordinance to create a special fund to provide means to pay for building a Plank Road in Grant and Eighth Streets; to borrow money to the amount of $20,000.00 for the benefit for such special fund; and authorizing the issueance of negotiable Gold Bonds, with negotiable Interest coupons to secure such loan" which after due delibration is passed by the following vote viz: in Favor of said ordinance R H Calligan, J Furth, G W Hall, W A Harrington and G W Young. Adopted From Same Committee granting petition of Fredricks & Maud to put store front into buildings on South 1/2 half of Lot 7 Block 3 Maynard's Plat but that no other additions be made to building. Adopted From Same Committee rejecting petition of Hamm & Schmitz for permission to erect corrugated iron addition to building cor South 2nd and Washington Streets as the same would be a clear violation of the fire limit ordinance. Adopted From Same Committee rejecting petition of the Cedar Valley Water Company for a franchise. Adopted. From Committee onHelathand POlice rejecting petition of Louisa Thompson and others for a change of Ordinance known as Cow Limit Ordinance. From same Committee onpetitons of T J Cox in regard to cleaning vaults, ces-pols etc recommending that the same be referred to the Judiciary Committee and City Attorney for the purpose of drawing and submitting an Ordinance governing same.
