The Following officers are present to wit: Mayor H L Yesler and Councilmen R H Calligan, J Furth, W A Harrington, G W Hall, and T W Lake The following business is transacted to wit: Council proceeds to examine and equalize the Assessment Roll for the year 1886 On motion the Clerk is ordered to notify the following named persons to appear and show cause as the same appears on the assessment Roll for 1886. Should not be raised to wit: Isadore Harris Raised on Personal Property with law.

217 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jun 17 1887 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is passed by the following vote, viz: Ayes Frink, Hinckley, Lake, Russell, Reitze. Noes none. Ordered that the Council adjourn until Monday June 20th next at 8 o'clock PM Approved W H Shoudy, mayor Attest W R Forrest, clerk Jun 20 187 Be it remembered that on this the 20th day of June 1887 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following officers are present to wit: Mayor W H Shoudy and Councilmen J Furth, J M Frink, T W Lake, T D Hinckley]], Russell & Reitze Whereupon the following proceedings are had to wit: Remonstrance of Toklas & Singerman et al against granting any one the right to erect fish stands at the foot of Columbia Street Referred to Street Committee. Remonstrance of E C Kilbourne and others against building a pest house on the property owned by the city where the Powder House is located, On motion the ovet of the Council on establishing the pest house is reconsidered and the matter re-referred to the Committee in Public Grounds & Buildings in conjunction with the Committe on Health & Police. Application for License referred Richard Pritchard The Council now proceeds toconside the veto by the Mayor of an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to widen

Committee Reports Received From Street committee granting petition of W A Steves for permission to erect a two story wooden building on Lot 1 Block 10 Maynard's Plat Adopted From Street Commmittee rejecting petitions of Nicholas George and Andrew Castro for permission to erect fish stands at the foot of Columbia Street Adopted From Street Committee laying on the table petitions of Toklas & Singerman & others in regard to fish stands foot of Columbia Street Adopted. Report from Street Committee on propositionof Seattle Cable Road & Water Co recommending that the same be accepted and a franchise granted the company for 25 years and City Attorney directed to draw an ordinance granting such franchise. Adopted. Report from Street Committee granting the petitionof Thos Burke and others to grade Madison Street fromthe end of the present grade to the City limits and build a sidewalk thereon and recommending that a new grade be established as provided by an ordinance herewith submitted.
