We heard a Dr. Parker tell of the wonderful way the transports are convoyed "overseas" and were intensely [underlined] interested because it was what you [underlined] are going through or have been – He saw 13 or 15 transports [inderted above] go out in one night and at a given signal from a war ship that headed the line torpedo boat destroyers darted out from all the wharfs and surrounded the "3 mile" [inserted above] lines of transports "like the wings of a great bird". He said he returned to New York and all day as he walked through the streets "Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord"! sang through his head. He thought it a marvelous accomplishment! Was taken out in some tug as an invited guest during the night
