Friday June 10, 1921
A beautiful day. The boys replanted tobacco and sowed peas. Lizzie got dinner. She had potatoes and peas for dinner. Alma sowed some. I mended two shirts for the boys. I cut some clover for Lizzies cows. I had rather do something like that than set all the time.
Alma had a note from John this morning. He will not be at home Sunday.
Oh how bad I want to know a bout them at home. Want to see them all at home and of the rest of them.
Saturday September 10, 1921
A good day. Jim & Ben worked on their tobacco fireing it. Henry and I picked some beans and peas this morning. This evening Ben carried Henry and Edna and I to the river. He did not want to go but went.
I did not catch any thing much. We stoped at Renan a few minutes. Virginia Harvey was there and Otho & Sallie Blair was there.
Josie got dinner & supper. She had fried apples for dinner. We did enjoy them. She mended on the men folks clothes all the evening.
Dodson Bailis come to see Ben to day.
Had a rain tonight.
Monday September 19, 1921
A clear dry day. Jim & Ben cut corn. Marvin and his hand helped them this evening. Ben & Jim went to Renan. There was no one at the store. The children went to school. Franklin come home very much complaining. I hope he will soon be well.
Josie and I washed some quilts this morning. I am so glad that we are done that job.
Josie spent the evening mending on the clothes. I went to Marvins. Some of Carries children has bad colds. I sowed some on a quilt this evening and to night. Every one has gone to bed and I will go soon.
Saturday October 1, 1921
A beautiful day cool and dry. We need rain very bad. Ben went to Eanes a gain today. Mr Mayhew went with him. They eat supper there. Jim planted a gate post and done a round here all day.
Josie ironed this morning. Worked all the evening at one thing an other. I mended a few things this evening and worked on the straw berry vines a little getting the grass out. We bought a peice of beef this morning. We all enjoyed it.
Today was Mabels birth day. She has had a good day for her. Henry gathered a few peas to day.

Monday, January 16, 1922
A bad day. Snowed all day. Not very cold. Mabel is sick. I am so sorrie for her & her mother.
Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Mr Norman Booker helped them. I killed a chicken & dressed it and got dinner. Helped to holde Mabel some. Josie done what she could. She had to rock Mabel most of the time. Henry & Edna went to school as bad as it was. I have bin mending overalls tonight.
I sympathize with all the poor and hard up people and the sick and that is the most of them.
