This evening Marvin carried Gladys and Effie Brumfield to White Falls fishin. We caught several small fish. They finished mending the race & commenced grinding new wheat.

I droped my knife in the river. The water was mudy so that I could not see it. I got down and felt for it and found it. I know it is foolish to to write about it but I keep thinkin a bout the surprize that I found it.

Carries children come a while this morning. Carries and Bens children gave me some nice presents. I was invited to dinner at Lee Brumfields but I did not go.

Josie straitened up things some but the baby cried so much that she could not do anything much.

The children spent the day playing with the toys that they got this morning.

A very colde day. Partly cloudy. Jim & Ben hauled in some feed then stripped tobacco for Mr Owen. Tonight they went to Marvins to help tye tobacco. Josie ironed some this morning. We both had a hand in getting dinner. We cooked cabbage & beans and made a crum pudding. I have set by the fire all that I well could. The children went to school. Heard today that Dorothy Worsham has scarlet fever. Mrs Edmons is very sick. Her daughter Mrs Hutcherson went to stay with her. I hope they all will soon be well.

A good day. Jim & Ben and Henry worked tobacco all day or nearly all day. Josie washed this morning. I got dinner. I cooked cabbage & potatoes and beets & onions. All raised in the garden this year.

This evening I went to Marvins a few minutes. Carrie was sewing. I have suffered some with my hip nearly a week. I am glad that I am able to go as well as I can. Do hope it will soon get well.
