Petition of Mrs H E Hathaway & F A Churchill for opening alley in Block 50 Terry's 1st add'n read & referred to the Street Committee. Committee Reports Rec'd From Street Committee on petition of Seattle Lumber and Commercial Company for permission to take water from a spring on James Street recommending that the petition be laid on the table as the Spring Hill Water Co had already taken posession of the spring under claim of purchase. adopted. From Same Committee granting petition of Charles B Ames & others for grading and building sidewalks on both sides of Birch Street from Depot Street to Harrison Street and recommending that the City surveyor submit plans and specifications for such improvement. From same Committee rejecting the petition of Henry Peterson for a drain as the Committee think the City had nothing to do with draining petitioner's lot. Adopted.
