415 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Mar 16 1888 and that the parties who have made a partial grade between 4th & 5th Streets be allowed credit by the City Surveyor for said work. Ordered that Cherry Street be graded from 5th Street to 13th Street and the City Surveyor directed to submit plans and specifications therefor. From same committee Granting petition of Schwabacher Bros & Co for improving Union Street from Front Street was Adopted. From Same Committee granting petition of G E Hall et al for grading Fourth Street from Battery to Bell Streets at petitioners expense, provided said petitioners file a bond and said improvements is made under the direction and subject to the approval of the City Surveyor. Adopted. From same Committee of petition of C N Cooper et al for opening Dexter Street recommending that the same be tabled as said street runs into D T Denny's Orchard which is unplatted ground. Adopted. From Committee on Harbor and Wharf on Harbor Masters report to the effect that the three buoys recommended can be placed in position at a cost of about $1622.00 and recommending that an ordinance be passed levying a small amount of harbor dues on vessels, sufficient to keep buoys, fire slips and wharves belonging to the City in repair. Report adopted and committee directed to report an ordinance for levying harbor dues and Harbor Master instructed to obtain and place the buoys in position.
