464 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE May 11 1888 Be it remembered that on this 11th day of May A.D 1888, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in in it's Council chamber pursuant to adjournment, the following officers are present to wit: His honor the Mayor Thos T Minor and Councilmen Furth, Frink, Green, Lake, Russell & Reitze and W R Forrest Clerk. -- The following proceedings are had, to wit: -- Petititions and Communications Petition of F W Woodaman & others for the grading of Cherry Street from Fourth Street to Thirteenth Street as originslly petitioned for and not from Fifth Street to Broadway as ordered by the Council read and referred to Committee on Streets. -- Petition of J B Metcalfe & others for straightening South Eleventh Street from Mill Street to Jackson Street read and referred to Street Committee with power to act & the Committee requests to examine & report as to the advisability of grading said South Eleventh Street from Mill Street to Lane Street. Remonstrance of A. A. Denny and others against opening streets on tide flats at the expense of the general fund, read and referred to the city attorney. Petition of T S Briscoe and others for establishing grade of Sixth Street between the South side of Union Street and North side of Spring Street, and grading and building sidewalks on both sides of said Sixth Street between said points, read and referred to the Street Committee and the Committee directed to report to Depot Street. _________________________________ _________________________________ Petition of the Seattle Cable Road and Water Co for the return of a certified check for $1000 heretofore
