302 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE July 16/83 of the following assessment roll, towit: For the Improvement of the alley through Blocks A, B, C, D and E of Denny's plat under Ordinance No. 384; For the Improvement of Main Street under Ordinance No. 385; For the Improvement of Columbia Street under Ordinance No. 386; For the Improvement of James Street under Ordinance No. 387; For the Improvement of Eighth Street under Ordinance No. 388; All filed June 5, 1883. For the Improvement of Cherry, Ninth and Twelfth Streets under Ordinance No. 395 all Filed June 22, 1883. For the Improvement of Pike Street under Ordinance No. 400. Filed June 22, 1883. Thereupon no complaints being presented with reference to any assessment of said rolls and the Council after due examination finding the same correct in every particular. It is ordered that the said assessment rolls be and they are hereby approved. And now it appearing to the Council that no appointments of Appraisers have been filed on behalf of the owners of property benefitted and condemned by the Extension of Jackson Street under Ordinance No. 396 the Council proceeds to appoint such appraisers; thereupon Robert Abrams and R. H. Calligan are appointed such appraisers. And now His Honor the Mayor appoints - Griffith Davies as the Third appraiser to assess damages and benefits under said Ordinance No. 396. Ordinances Received An Ordinance is submitted entitled "To prohibit the suspension of signs and transparencies over the sidewalks" thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against adoption none. The Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "To provide for lighting the street of the City of Seattle, and fixing the limits within which property shall be subject to a special tax for gas light." Thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against adoption none.
