Seattle, Wash. Nov. 21st, 1889

To The Honorable, The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle.

We the undersigned petitioners represent to your Honorable body that we are property holders on Depot St. in the vicinity of Ash and Willow Sts., that we are without adequate facilities for protection against fire, in that the nearest fire plug to our property is at the corner of Front and Wall Sts. at a distance of six (6) blocks, that the rapid growth of this part of the city requires better facilities for protection against fire. Wherefore your petitioners pray. That water mains be extended from the nearest practicable point, to and along Depot St. between Ash and Willow Sts. and that fire plugs be placed at the corner of Depot and Ash Sts. and at the corner of Deoot and Willow Sts.
