351 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Sept 5/83 Office of the Mayor of the City of Seattle September 5th 1883 To the Common Council of the City of Seattle; Gentlemen: I beg to return herewith without my approval "Ordinance No_ to appropriate $300. to secure the use of Hoolk& Ladder apparatus" Passed by your Honorable Body September 1st 1883. My objectionto Ordinance is that the ordinance does not provide that the same shall be drawn out of any fund. Without such a provision the Clerk would have no authority to drawn a Warrant now would he know what fund to draw the Warrant upon. The Warrant to be drawn under this ordinance should be drawn upon the Fire fund and the Ordinance should so provide. The printed Ordinances now used by the Council for apppriation will suggest the change required. This change can be made at once when the Ordinance will be approved. U M Rasin Acting Mayor And now the Council proceeds to reconsider said Ordinance thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted over the veto fo the Acting Mayor upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Clancy, Harris, Ranke & Wusthoff.
