MR. PRESIDENT:

Your Committee on Streets to whom was referred the Petition of M.H. Young et al would report recommending that a bridge on roadway 16 feet wide, and about 600 feet long, on bents, be divided to be constructed, and that the necessary box drains be also put into position on said street. The work is estimated to cost about $700 for the bridge.

991004 Mr. President: Your committee on Fire to whom was referred Communication of Board of Fire Commissioner regarding the building of a two story brick fire engine house on South Third St, report, that they fully recognize the advisability of such a building, but in view of the present financial condition of the city, your committee does not feel justified in recommending the city to incur the expense required for such a building at this time. We would also take the liberty to suggest that the out skirts of the city is the proper place for such shows to be located if at all and we most respectfully ask that the said show maybe prohibited from opening up their show at the point named

We recommend that the Board of Public Works be authorized to raise the sidewalk as prayed for in the petition, provided the city be put to no expense whatever for raising buildings on the line of said sidewalk.
