Ordered that the Committee on Public Buildings, Property & Grounds be & they are authorized to fill in the Jail portion of new City Engine House as they may see fit. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements From the Columbia and Puget Sound Railroad Co et al for the grading of Jackson Street from the West side of Second Street to Elliott's Bay. Referred to the Judiciary & Legislative Committee with instructions to submit an Ordinance to provide for the improvements. Reports of Committee Received From Finance approving Treasurers Report adopted From Finance recommending the adoption of an Ordinance to amend Section 3 of Ordinance No 246 Adopted From Streets and Street Improvements condemning sidewalk fronting Lot 8 in Block 37 of Boren's plat. Adopted From Streets and Street Improvements on the matter of grading a portion of Pine Street. Laid on the table From Gas Light recommending the placing of a gas light corner of Mill & Terrace Streets. Adopted & Committee instructed From Streets and Street Improvements condemning sidewalk fronting Lot 8 in Block 37 of Boren's plat. Adopted

155 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Oct 13/82 consideration is laid over until Monday October 16, 1882 7 o'clock PM and now in pursuance to the provisions of Ordinance No 303 the Council proceeds to examine & equalize the assessment roll of the 7th Street sidewalk and to hear all complaints touching said roll; pending which the matter of said consideration is laid over until Monday October 16, 1882 at 7 o'clock PM And now in pursuance to the provisions of Ordinance No. 304 the Council proceeds to examine & equalize the assessments roll for the Front Street sidewalk and to hear all complaints touching said roll, pending which the matter of said consideration is laid over until Monday october 16,1882 at 7 o'clock PM Ordered that the Judiciary& Legislative Committee be & they are herby instructed to submit at next meeting an Ordinance levying a tax to pay for grading done on Union Street under Ordinance No 289 Ordered that the council stand now adjourned until Monday October 16, 1882 at 7 o'clock PM Attst: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve mayor

Adopted Ordered that the bond of said Constructions be fixed in the sum of $500.00 & that the City Attorney prepare the proper Contract & Bond. 175 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Nov 20/82 be it remembered thaton this the 20th day of November 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present to wit: Councilmen John Collins, O F Cosper, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald, G L Manning & U M Rasin. By reason of the absence from the City His Honor the Mayor Councilman John Collins is elected to the position of acting Mayor to serve during such absence. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds to open & consider the bids received pursuant to notice for certain Improvements on Jackson Street under Ordinance No325.
