I David T Denny of Seattle Left side of page notes King County W T would represent to the Hon Council of the City of Seattle Blk B R to $50 per lot that all the lots in Blocks A & B in my 6th addition to Seattle are assessed at three hundred dollars Blk 93 Lts 1 2 3 R to $150 per lot each, and the lots so described are entirely covered with water and Blk 94 Lts 1 2 3 R to $150 per lot therefore at the present time are very much less valuable than those on the land which are assessed at the same price. Also lots 1 - 2 - 3 in Block 93 in D T Denny 1M addition also lots 1 - 2 - 3 in Block 94 in same add are water lots and assessed too high also part of Lot 1 and the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Sec 29 T 25 NE 4 E is too high and in consequence theseof I do hereby present this as my written protest to and against said valuations. 480 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE May 21/84 equilization of the Assessment Roll of 1884 And now Franklin Matthias and Executors & Trustees of the Terry Estate petitioned in writing for a reduction in the assessment of Said Estate Laid over. Adjourned until Thursday May 22 at 8 o'clock pm Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved U M Rasin President of the Council May 22/84 On this the 22d day of May 1884 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment as a Board of Equalization. Present Councilmen, Thos Clancy, B F Day, Geo W Harris, Chas McDonald, U M Rasin & F W Wusthoff By reason of the absence of His Honor the Mayor H G Struve, Coucilmen U M Rasin is appoointed President of the council to serve during such absence. And now the Council proceeds with the examination and equalization of the Assessment Roll for 1884. The Puget Sound National Bank asks a reduction of their assment. Laid over Ordered that A A Denny & D T Denny be notified to show cause if any they have, why additional property should not be added to their assessment on Monday May 26, 1884 at 8 o'clock pm Ordered that the following changes & Corrections be made is said assessment Roll to wit: C T Dose on sec's 9&10 Tp24NR4E Lots 2&10 reduced to $125. James Mitchell on Lot 3 B 15 Yesler's fractional Block reduced to $50. J W George changed to read under 1/6/of E 1/2 of Lot 1 B 10 Maynard's M N Maddock $1000 on personal property taken off Walter Clancy & McNaught on Block 13 Maynard's reduced to $1200. Adjourned until Friday May 23, 1884 at 8 o'clock pm Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor
