454 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE May 4 1888 From Same Committee granting the petition of D T Denny et al for the grading of Lake Ave from John Street to Harrison Street and directing the City Surveyor to submit plans and specifications therefor at the next regular meeting. Adopted From Same Committee refusing the petition of A Jackson for grading a portion of Jackson Street; stating that work has been done as prayed for. Adopted and ordered filed. From Same Committee rejecting the petition of J M Quilter for vacating a portion of Old Beach Road. Adopted. From Same Committee granting the petition of J D Wincapaw for grading and constructing sidewalks on Box Street from Depot St to Harrison Street and the City Surveyor is directed to submit plans and specification therefor at the next regular meeting. Adopted. From Same Committee submitting report of L Bertrand and Co showing the condition of the 7th Street grade, north end, which is ordered filed and City Attorney directed to notify the Bondsmen on said contract to complete said street. From Committee on Sewers & Drainage in reference to the petition of A A Bell as follows: Your Committee to whom was referred the petition of A A Bell for a sewer in Bell Street beg to report that the same be granted and the sewer be placed under the direction of City Surveyor. Adopted.

529 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jul 6 1888 City of Seattle from Fifth to Thirteenth Streets and for constructing sidewalks on both sides of said Cherry Street" And no one appearing to contest said assessment rolls or either if them and no objection being made to them or either of them on motion said assessment Rolls as submitted by the clerk are approved. The owners of property benefited along the line of Second Street from Depot Street to Blanchard Street having filed a petition asking that F S DeWolfe be appointed an appraiser in their behalf, and the owners of property condemned having filed a petition asking that S E Clough be appointed an appraiser on their behalf now on motion duly made and seconded it is ordred that the said F S DeWolfe be and he is hereby appointed an appraiser to act in behalf of the owners of property benefited along the line of said Second Street. And that the said S E Clough be and he is hereby appointed an appraiser to act in behalf of the owners of property condemned or damaged along the line of said street: Whereupon his Honor the Acting Mayor appoints D T Denny esq an appraiser to act in the behlaf of the City in said matter. Ordered that the City Clerk issue a duplicate Road Fund Warrant in favor of R H Calligan for $40.50 in place of Warrant #2196 which has been lost upon said Calligan filing a proper bond with the city Treasurer. Ordinances 961 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorneyentitled "An Ordinance establishing the grade of South Eleventh Street in the City of Seattle between Washington Street and the south side of Weller Street " which is passed by the following vote, viz: In favor
