Dear Ted,

just a few lines to let you know that I recieved your letter of Feb 12th and was glad to hear from you and all.

I had two days off and was at New Port News and Norfork I did not stay long at New Port News but went to Norfork and stopped at the Atlantic Hotel over night Herb and I sure had a fine time all the time that we were at Norfork all the Sailors off of the battle ships stay at Norfork when ever they get off the ships it sure looks a whole lot like San Francisco.

I will write to Lydia juist as soon as I finish this letter I sent all of you folks a few post cards of Norfork this morning I also have a big folder here that I am going to send to Lydia in the morning as she wants me to send her a few from every camp that I am stationed at.

That would be fine if you would write to those Boys that you know here and tell them to come and see me sometime.

That is too bad that Bill Torello is in quarentine but I guess he will be out of it in a short time.

I will pay for my Insurance every month as it is easy for me to do it my Liberty Bond will soon be paid for now so that is not so bad at that.

I get a little shorte on money once in awhile but that does not bother me at all I am used to that part of it now so you see I can get along fine I am a little short this month as it took a good bit for me while I was at Norfork those pictures cost me three dollars and sixty cents and I also bought me a good new hat and some other things that I might need I did not have to buy a hat but I always did want a hat like the one that I bought as they are sure good hats.

I am sure pleased to hear that you have had you salary raised
