To the Honable Mayor and Common council of the City of Seattle: - We the undersigned petitioners, owners of property along and abutting on Moltke St. in the city of Seattle, King County, Washington, respectfully pray your Hon. Body to order said Moltke St. graded, and side walks eight feet wide constructed and open drains laid onboth sides of said street from Depot St. to Morse St.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, George B Adair as principal, and T E Jones as surities, all of King County, State of Washington, are held and firmly bound unto THE CITY OF SEATTLE, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, in the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars, to the payment of which well and truly to be made we jointly and severally bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns firmly by these present. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas on the 24th day of August, 1894 the above bounden principal was by the city council of The City of Seattle granted a license for the period of one year from the 24th day of August 1894, to the 27th day of August, 1895, to keep, store, sell, use, handle, and transport within the limits of The City of Seattle dynamite, nitroglycerine or compounds thereof, hercules powder or giant powder and other explosives upon the conditions named in ordinance No. 3480 of said city, approved August 14th, 1894; NOW, THEREFORE, if the above bounden principal shall well and faithfully observe all the conditions of said ordinance and the several provisions thereof, and shall pay all damages which may accrue by reason of the violation of any of the provisions of said ordinance, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.

Seal Office of County Delegate Ancient Order of Hibernians of King County Seattle, Wash, March 9th 1893 To the Honorable Board of Police Commissioners City of Seattle Gentlemen The Ancient-Order of Hibernians have decided to Parade on the 19th of March. And have instructed me to request that your honorable body furnish them with a platoon of Police as Escort on that day. Mr. President: Your committee on claims to whom was referred the claim of Mrs. Celia Cook in her own behalf and as guardian of her minor children, Wm Boyd Cook and Cecy May Cook, the widow and children of Wallace Cook, for $25000.00 for damages for the death of said Wallace Cook alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the city. By leave to report that it has carefully considered all the matters connected with said claim and recommends that, by way of compromise of the same, the sum of $3500.00 be offered to Mrs. Celia Cook and for her minor children in full settlement of said claim, provided that the authorization of the superior court of King County be obtained for such settlement on behalf of said minor children, and that, upon the acceptance of said offer and obtaining such authorization an ordinance to placed for the appropriation of said sum for the purpose of such settement sum.
