To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle: The undersigned your petitioners respectfully represent to your Honorable Body; that the bridge across the creek on Lincoln street North of Sixth street, in Pontius Addition to the City of Seattle, is in a broken down and ruinous condition, and utterly unsafe for travel; that there is great danger; that, in its present condition, horses will break through the same and thus the City will be put to great expense and damage; that it is necessary, owing to the condition of said bridge as aforesaid, for loaded wagons to go on other streets in order to avoid crossing said bridge, and the traveling pubic is thus put to great inconvenience. Wherefore your petitioners pray that said bridge be immediately removed and in lieu thereof, a good and substantial bridge be built And your petitioners will ever pray.

To the Hon. the Board of Aldermen and House of Delagates of the City of Seattle: Gentlemen The undersigned, petitioners, respectfully represent, that the incandescent electric lighting system on Harvard Street in Pontius Addition Extends as far south on Harvard Street as Fourth or Harrison Street in said Addition and that said system on Depot Street extends east and west across Villard Street in Nagle's 2nd. Addition, and that a hiatus exists between the point of intersection of Depot and Villard streets and the point of termination of said system on Harvard Street, for a distance of three squares, to the great discomfort and inconvenience of adjacent residents and pedestrians; that the same may be obviated at comparatively little expense, by placing three of four lights along Harvard and Villard Streets from Fourth to Depot streets; Wherefore your petitioners pray that there may be placed a thirty candle power light at the point of junction between the Nagle and Pontius additions, viz, at the north end the little circular park on the west side of Harvard Street, another at the intersection of Chester and Villard Streets, viz, at the corner on the south side of Chester and the east side of villard streets, and a third at the intersection of Villard and May Streets, viz. on the south side of May and the east side of Villard streets, and your petitioners will every pray.
