4 The department placed on record the visit of Monsieur M L deVilmorin of Paris a distinguished botanist and horticulturist. Special Commissioner of Horticulture from the French Government to the Chicago Exposition. Mr T N Haller on behalf of the City placed his launch at Monsieur deVilmorin's disposition and the department guided his tour over Lake Washington where valuable specimans were collected by him.
