Seattle July 24th 1890

To his honor the Mayor and Members of city Council of Seattle. We the undersigned residents of North Seattle most respectully protest against the proposed locating of an oil storage house at the Corner of Bell & West streets of this city and respectfully ask your honorable body to prohibit any such enterprise being carried on at this location.

To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen At a regular meeting of Fire Company No 4 held January 8th 1885 in North Seattle We the officers of said Company were instructed to represent to your honorable body that we are and have been since May 5 1884 a regular Organized Company and have been so recognized by the City Council as such as the Fire Department That we have never been furnished with any Fire Apparatus whatever. The property interests in Buildings both Public and Private in this part of the City are of such characted as to demand protection. Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen We the undersigned officers of Seattle Engine Company No 4 situated at North Seattle near Front Street & Battery Streets hereby respectfully petition your Honorable body for recognition into the Fire Department of the City of Seattle in conformity to Ordinance No 543 and request that we may be fully constituted as such company under such Ordinance And Whereas this Company was organized prior to the passage of said ordinance No 543 & whereas, as such company your honorable body recognized us before the passage of siad ordinance on our petition heretofore presented, we would therefore ask that sectionone of said ordinance be so amended as to include eattle Engine Company No 4 & will ever pray etc. W G Sahmet president Thos H Stagg foreman Charles Baker Secretary
