Saturday, May 17, 1919
Cloudy most of the day & a little rain. I woke up at three oclock this morning. Got up at half passed four. Made a fire and went to the spring and then got breakfast fried fish and ham. After breakfast I milked two cows and fed the calf then put on another dress. Ben carried me to Mr Dews. They carried me with them to Long Island fishing. We did not catch any thing worth haveing.
Mrs Dews had a nice dinner. They were all as nice & good to me as any one could ask. Brought me as far as Mr Owens on my way home. I certainly do thank them for their kindness.
Josie & Nellie was here to get dinner and attend to things. Ben went to the mill this evening.
10 oclock
[Ink smear] I went to sleep.
Tuesday, July 1, 1919
A good day. Ben Jim & Owen plowed in their tobacco.
Josie washed a big washin of clothes. I got dinner. Was late a bout it.
Denia Blair come and eat dinner with us. I was glad that she come. Denia and I walked to Mr. Edmons to see Mrs. Edmons. Mrs. Dews and Mrs. Owen was there.
Board Dews come for his mother and Aunt Minnie in the car. He brought Denia and I as far as Mr Owens. Mrs. Coats died today. She was Josies aunt.
Miss Evylin Edmons made lemmon aid as good as I ever drank.

Thursday, September 18, 1919
A good day. Ben & Jim and Owen put tobacco in the pit this morning. This evening they covered the hog pen. Henry went to Renan this morning and to Charley Hutcherson this evening. He paid for some meal that I bought and carried the sack home.
Josie and I got the dinner. Josie made Edna a pink dress. She is very glad of it.
Beatrice Owen come this evening. Paul & Roy and Rees was here a little while to day. Mrs. Owen put in a quilt to day. She had Mrs Dews quilting frames. I cant find two of mine.

Tuesday, October 7, 1919
A beautiful day. Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Owen loaded some on Mr Mayhews truck to day. They are going to South Boston.
Mollie and Christenia Reynolds come a little while to day. Mrs Owen & Mrs Dews come a few minutes this evening. Mrs Car washed dishes for me today and that was a big help.
I washed the babys flanels this evening.
Jim & Ben went to the barn to nigh to tie tobacco.
I have wrote a letter to Letcher Craddock to night.
