406 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Mar 2 1888 Ordered that the Street Commissioner be instructed to extend the Battery Street Sewer to a connection with the Denny School House. Ordered that Jacob Cowen be granted permission to blast until the next regular meeting of the Council. Ordered that the City Attorney in connection with the Judiciary Committee be authorized to act upon the proposition of F. E. Sander for the payment of certain grade taxes. Councilman Furth submits the following resolution and moves its adoption: "Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Seattle King County W. T., that the Mayor is hereby instructed to respectfully represent to the Honorable, the Post Master General, that owning to the increase of the business of the Post Office of the City of Seattle, that our mails are delayed in their distribution for many hours; the present clerical force being entirely insufficient to attend to the business, and the Post Office itself far too small to even accomodate the mails therefor, we respectfully ask that an increase in the appropriation for these purposes be made at the earliest possible moment as the business is rapidly growing and our in-convenience is added to from week to week." The motion for adoption being duly seconded, the resolution is adopted by an unanimous vote of the Council. Ordered that the matter of Rollin Street Extension be placed in the hands of the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee with power to incur necessary expenses in securing dedication of property, etc.
