To the Honorable Mayor nd City Council West Seattle Wash Greeting:- We, the undersigned, resident and property owners in the district to be affected, beg to call your attention to the unhandy condition of the cross streets accomodating the north end of Prospect Avenue. In order to get down Grand Ave. to the Ferry landing it is necessary for us to travel from the north end of Prospect Ave? south to Spruce St., starting directly north toward the desired point or south to Cedar St., thence West two blocks to California Ave. which is practically the same distance out of the way: We therefore, beg to submit a plan for remedying this inconvenience and petition you to open Elm Street thru and across lots 26 and 27 and a portion of lot 51 in block 57 of West Seattle Land and Imp. Co. 2nd plat, to an intersection with Grand Ave. Thus the average distance of travel for us to reah the Ferry landing will be lessened by about four blocks. Ordered that the application of Ursula Wyckoff to be reduced on personal property $16,000 she being a non-resident be rejected. Ordered that the name of John Mitchell on page 2 changed of John Mitchel and that Lots 5 & 8 Block 51 be changed to Block 57 Ordered that Lot 8 Block 1 Plummer's addn be assessed to W F Dearborn and stricken from L F & Geo Dearborn assessment. Ordered that Wm D Wood be reduced on personal property $800 account mortgage imporperly assessed. Ordered that M & K Gottstein be reduced on personal property $1050. Ordered that F G Strange be reduced on E 1/2 Lots 7 & 8 Block 2 Eastern Addition from $300 each to $150 each.
