64 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Be It remembered that on this the 9th day of May at 7 1/2 o'clock pm 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets as a Board of Equalization pursuant to adjornment of May 8th 1882 Present His Honor the Mayor L.P. Smith and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, and Charles McDonald Thereupon the Council proceeds to the Equalization of said general assessment Roll for 1882, and the hearing of all complaints touching the same until adjournment. And now at 9 1/2 o'clock PM the Council adjourns until May 10th at 7 1/2 o'clocl Attest E S Osborne, Clerk Approved L.P. SmithMayor Be it remembered that on this the 10th day of May 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Committee Chambers as a board of Equalization pursuant to adjournment of May 9th 1882 Present His Honor the Mayor L.P. Smith and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, and Charles McDonald Thereupon the Council proceeds with the examination and correction of the assessment Roll for the year of 1882. Ordered that the Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to cause written notices to be served by the City Marshall upon the following named persons informing them that the Council propose to increase their respective assessments and that they may appear on Monday May 15th 1882 at 7 1/2 PM to make known their objections thereto; Franenthal Bros, Schwabacher Bros & Co, Harrington & Smith, S. Kenney, C.P. Stone, Boyd & Poncin, L.S.Rown, J.H. Sanderson, Wald & Campbell, F.W Wusthoff W Chong. Ordered that the Council stand adjourned until May 11th 188s Attest Clerk Approved L.P. 109 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Aug 11/82 Pine and Ninth Streets and on Stewart, First and Virginia Streets; said petition is referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvement. A petition is received from Franenthal Bros praying for the remission of the 10% penalty on delinquent tax on Jackson Street Sidewalk tax rolls; the same is referred to Finance Committee A petition is received from W W Holcomb et al for a deed to Lot 151 is City Cemetary; the same is referred to the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds A Communicaation is received from the City Attorney upon the construction of Sections 63 & 94 of the City Charter, and is thereupon referred to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee The Street Committee report in favor of granting the petition of G W Hall et al and thereupon it is ordered that the Judiciary Committee be & they are instructed to submit an ordinance for the construction of sidewalks on Pine and Ninth Streets and on Stewart, Tenth and Virginia Streets as prayed for The Street Committee report favorably on the petition of Harmon & Thurlow for a lease of a portion of Seneca Street Thereupon said petition is referred to the Legislative and Judiciary Committee with instruction to prepare a lease in accordance therewith. The street Committee report favorably on the petition of E A Turner et al for a sidewalk on King Street; said petition is thereupon referred to the Legislative and Judiciary Committee with instructions to submit an ordinance in accordance therewith The Legislative and Judiciary Committee submit ordinance No 293 entitled "An ordinance to repeal Ordianace No292 of the city of Seattle" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote; to wit: in favor of adoption,
