87 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE is hereby instructed to prohibit the firing of fire crackers in dangerous places on July 4th 1882. Ordered that the Celebration Committee be granted permission to use James Street for a pavillion on July 4th 1882. Ordered that the Clerk be instructed to publish notices of a general election on July 10th 1882 according to law. Ordered that the following named persons be and they are hereby appointed to conduct said election and that the following named places an hereby designated as the places of holding said election, towit: First Ward Place of Election Office of J.P. S.F. Coombs Inspector of " Frank Matthias Judges " " H.G. Thomton & E . A. Turner Clerks " " Fred E. 142 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Oct 5/82 & acted upon, & there being no further complaints made against the same, & the said roll being now found to be correct & equal in every particularIt is ordered that the said assessment roll as now corrected & equalized be declared to be the assessment roll for the said improvement under ordnance no 288 Ordered that the council stand now adjourned Attest: E S. Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve mayor Oct 6/82 Be it remembered that on this the 6th day of October 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its council chambers pursuant to law The following officers are present, to wit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and councilmen O.F. Cosper, Charles F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U.M. Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions Recieved From August Hess et al with reference to certain proposed changes in Front Street grade. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements From S.F. Coombs et al with reference to certain proposed changes in Front Street grade. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements From A.B. Young praying for a reduction in his assessment. Laid on the table. From H.G. Struve et al for the grading of Pine Street from Front Street to the alley between Front and Second Streets. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. From August Hess against the removal of earth in Pine Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements From Roside Scott et al asking for certain changes
