71 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE. petition is granted and the ordinance committee instructed to submit an ordinance providing for the construction as [such?] sidewalk.

And now the Ordinance Committee submit ordinance No. 277, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: "An ordinance to provide for the lighting of the streets "and furnishing the City of Seattle with gas, within "fixed limits." After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and Charles McDonald. Against adoption, none. And now the ordinance committee submit ordinance No. 278, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: "An ordinance granting unto Charles Coppin, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, the right to lay water pipes in all streets and alleys and parts of streets and alleys in the City of Seattle." After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and [Charles McDonald]]; against adoption, none. Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned until May 18th, 1882 Attest: E S Osborne, Clerk Approved L. P. Smith, Mayor Be it remembered that on this the 17th day of May, 1882, the Common Council meets in it's council chamber as a Board of Equalization pursuant to adjournment of May 16th, 1882. Present His Honor, the Mayor L. P. Smith and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and Charles McDonald. From Licenses and Revenue granting the application of Eskson & Locke for a Bowling Alley. Granted and license ordered issued. Applications for Licenses From Frank Peters for retail liquors & Maria Goldberg for grocery. Referred to the Comtee. on Licenses and Revenue. Claims paid The following claims having been duly audited by the Council are ordered paid by warrants drawn on the funds and in the amounts following, to wit: City Fund E. L. It is ordered that the said assessment roll be & is hereby approved & declared to be the assessment roll for such improvement. And now in pursuance to the notice duly published the Council proceeds to the correction & equalization of the assessment roll for the Seneca Street Sidewalk under Ordinance No. 336 and Filed Now. 29, 1882. Whereupon no complaints being made against said roll or any individual assessment therein, and the Council and after due examination finding said roll to be correct & the valuations of property therein to be equal & uniform.
