121 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Be it remembered that on this the 4th day of September 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Offices are present, to wit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen John Collins, Chas F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald, G. L. Manning and V.M. Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are has: Reports of Committees Received From Judiciary and Legislative, submitting an ordinance entitled "To provide for the purchase of certain real estate" From Health and Police, in the Communication of D. E. L. Smith for a 3 month leave of absence, recommending the granting of the prayer of said Communication. Adopted and petition granted. From Finances, on the claim of W. E. Boone, recommending the same be paid. Adopted. From Finances, on the matter of bids for job printing, recommending that the Clerk be authorozed to procure job work done and he may judge for the best interests of the City. Adopted and bids rejected. From Street and Street Improvements, on the petition of O.S. Wright et al for the opening Canal Street from 12th to 13th Streets, and 13th Street to be opened from Canal Street to a point 100 feet south of the south line of Catharine Street, recommending the granting of said petition. Adopted and petition granted. From Streets and Street Improvements, on the petition of A.K. Manning et al for the opening of 3rd Street from Battery to Blanchard Streets, recommending the granting of said petition. Adopted and petition granted. 128 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Sept 8/82 On this the 8th day of September 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen John Collins, Fred Gasch and V.M. Rasin. No quorum being present, Council adjourned until Monday September 11 1882 at 7.30 o'clock p.m. Attest: E S Osborne Clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor Sept 11/82 Be it remembered that on this the 11th day of September 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H. G. Struve and Councilmen John Collins, O. F. Cosper, Chas F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and V.M. Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions received From W.A. Scott et al for the opening of Mill Street from 8th to Williamson Street, thence north to intersect Lake Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. Communications received From His Honor the Mayor recommending that the members of the Police force be uniformed. Referred to the Committee on Health and Police. Reports received From the Surveyor restructing plans for Washington Street grade under Ordinance No. 301. Reports of Committees received From Public Buildings, Property and Grounds recommending that the rent of a certain Tenement House belonging to the City be reduced to $10.00 per month. Adopted.

The following Offices are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen O. F. Cosper, Chas F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald, G. L. Manning and V.M. Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had. Petitions Received From Wm. H. Reeves et al for a sidewalk on Seneca Street between Front and 3rd Streets. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. Committee Reports Received From Streets submitting bids for Jackson Streets Improvement. Ordered that all bids be rejected. From Streets and Street Improvements recommending that the Contract for Union Street sidewalk under Ord. No. 324 be awarded to Hoole and Simpson on their bid for the same. Adopted. Ordered that the bond of said Contractors be fixed in the sum of $500.00 and that the City Attorney prepare the proper contract and fund. From Streets and Street Improvements recommending that the contract for the Washington Street sidewalk under Ordinance No. 326 be awarded to A.S. Parkham in his bid for the same. Adopted.
