Phinney for an allowance for clearing on Pine and 9th Streets. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. From Francis C. Vickery for an ordinance with reference to the removal of rubbish. Referred to the Committee on Health and Police. Committees Reports Received From Councilman John Collins Chairman of the Committee on Public Buildings, Property and Grounds entering his protest against the meeting of the Council in the new City Engine House before the same is delivered by the contractor and accepted by the City. From Councilman O. F. Cosper acting Chairman of the Jail Committee entering the statement that the occupation of the New City Engine House was done after verbal permission first obtained from the contractor. From Streets and Street Improvements on the plans and specifications for sidewalks on Jackson Street under Ordinance No. 335 and Seneca Street under Ordinance No. 336, submitting certain changes on the plans. Adopted and surveyor instructed to make such changes From Streets and Street Improvements recommending that Chin Guan and Charlie Contractors be granted an extension of time in which to complete certain contracts, to wit: on Front Street grade under Ordinance No. 287 six weeks from Dec. 1. 1882; On Union Street grade under Ordinance No. 289 six weeks from Dec. 1. 1882 and on the 2d, 3d and intersecting streets grade two weeks from Dec. 1, 1882. Adopted. From Streets and Street Improvements rejecting the complaints of certain citizens against the manner of grading by Chin Guan and Charlie. Adopted and the prayers of the complaints refused. From Streets and Street Improvements recommending tbat Hoole and Simpson Contractors for the construction of the sidewalk on Union Street under Ordinance No. 324 have further time until December 20, 1882 in which to complete said contract. Adopted.

Ordered that the City Attorney submit proper ordinances for the grading and planking of the following streets or portions thereof, to wit: Planking Commercial from the south side of Mill to the north line of King Planking Jackson from the alley west of Commercial to Commercial Planking Main from the alley west of Commercial to Commercial Planking Mill from present planking east to east side of Front Grading South 2d from north side of Main to the Wharf Planking South 2d from north side of Main to Wharf Grading Main from Commercial to 2d Planking Main from Commercial to 2d Grading Jackson from Commercial to 2d Planking Jackson from Commercial to 2d Grading Front from Mill to Madison Planking Front from Mill to Madison The vote on said order is as follows, to wit: In favor of said order Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning.
