Committees Reports

From Finance, on the petition of the Clerk for an increase in his salary recommending that his salary be fixed in the sum of $90.00 per month & that the fees of the Office be paid into the Treasury. Adopted & referred to Judiciary and Legislative Comittee with instructions to submit the proper Ordinance

From Licenses and Revenue; on the application of Beede and Co. for a Retail Liquor license, recommending the same be granted. Adopted and license ordered issued

From Licenses and Revenue on the application of Trana & Ackley for a retail liquor license, recommending that application be rejected. Adopted and license refused.

From Finance, on the petition of the King County Industrial Association for remitting moneys paid for license, recommending the petition be granted. Adopted.

The following claims having been duly audited are paid by Warrants drawn on the funds and in the amounts following towit.

And now the Judiciary and legislative Committee submit Ordinance No 308 entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" Thereupon after due consideration said ordinance is adopted upon the following vote towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, McDonald & Manning Against adoption Gasch.

Ordered that the matter of W. N. Bell with reference to sidewalk in front of his property be referred to Street Committee

Ordered that the Legislative & Judiciary Committee be & they are hereby instructed to submit at next meeting an ordinance providing for the purchase of 25 x 60 feet off the West side of Lot 2 in Block 5 of Boren's plat in accordance with the terms of an ordinance for the purchase of the same property previously rejected. ordered that the matter of considering and equalizing the assessment Roll under Ordinance No 288 for 2nd, 3rd & other Streets

From Fire and Water recommending that the Ordinance heretofore submitted granting certain rights to John Leary to lay waterpipes be adopted. Report adopted From Fire and Water recommending the pruchase of 500 feet of Maltese Hose and also of an additional Hose Carriage Adopted. From License & Revenue recommending the granting of a Grocery, Pigeon Table & Pool Table licenses to Jacob Bersch upon his application. Adopted & licenses ordered issued. From Special Committee on rules of Council asking further time. Granted 1 week's further time in which to report. Application for Licenses From Otto Pasqua for Retail Liquors. Rejected Ordered that the said application be referred to the Committee on Licenses and Revenues From Shaw & Algar for Retail Liquors & One Billiard Table Granted & License ordered issued. 210 JOUNRAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Feb2/83 Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Manning. Against adoption none. And now the council porceeds to an election for the purpose of fillinf the vacancy caused by the removal of Policeman T J Small. Whereupon A H Manning seeing a majority of all the votes for the Councilmen present is duly declared elected as policeman to fill said vacancy for the term provided by law. Honell and Joe Francisco for Retail liquors Licenses Granted Trana & Ackley for retail liquor Claims Paid Seneca Street Sidewalk Ord 336 Hill & Rosburg Contract Work No 176 $619.57 City Fund Wm Gure Taxes refunded No. 297 $22.50 And now the Council proceeds to open and consider the award of the Arbitrators duly appointed to consider & act upon the claim of E.W. Rea for $716.00 for extra services on Engine House: thereupon said arbitrators award in found to be in favor of E.W. Rea for $301.25. Award adopted. And now the Council proceeds to consider the specifications of the Surveyor for a Stone Wall fronting the Denny & Colman Blocks in Front Street. Pending which the matter is laid over until next meeting. And now the Plans and Specifications for Marion Street sidewalk under Ordinance No. 364 are presented and after due examination the same are approved and ordered filed. And now the Plans and Specifications for a sidewalk in Battery Street under Ordinance No. 362 are presented and after due examination the same are approved and ordered filed. Ordered that the matter of a Telephone for the Engine House on South 3rd Street be laid over until next meeting. The Finance Committee report favorable on the Report of the Treasurer. Adopted.
